Dunalley Police Station Officially Opened

We are delighted to have been consulting architects for the new Dunalley Police station which was officially opened yesterday. It is delightful to have been involved in helping to rebuild this bushfire ravaged community.

Brunacci Residence Progress | Update 4

The last few weeks has seen a lot of steady progress made on site. The ground floor suspended concrete slab has been installed including hydronic floor heating and all the precast concrete panels to the ground floor have been installed into place

This floor comprises the sleeping and bathing level as well as access to the private courtyard at ground level

23 Paterson St | Sneak Peak

Work will soon be commencing on our latest commercial project, the complete fit out of this lovely heritage listed office building in Launceston. As Launceston architects, we take great pride in being able to both restore and rejuvinate this historic building for the Launceston public to once again enjoy.

23 Paterson St, Launceston. Work will soon commence on the renovations of this 3 storey heritage listed building

Work will involve peeling back the layers of building works which have occurred over the years in order to reveal the historical features of the building. The building will then be opened up by selective removal of walls and new modern insertions added, which are clearly articulated from the old historic parts of the building. There will be a clear distinction and dialogue between new and old.

Brunacci Residence Progress | Update 3

The first pre-cast concrete panels have now been craned into place. 35 individual panels which comprise of the lower ground floor level were indiviudally lifted and carefully located into place without a hitch. Careful and considered detailing of each panel enabled the construction to fit together like a jigsaw.

Brunacci Residence Progress | Update 2

March 2014

Progress on the foundations is well underway, with the lower ground floor slab now poured and excavation work commenced on the ground floor slab. The ground floor slab will be partly founded in the ground and partly a suspended concrete slab supported by pre-cast concrete walls which are currently being fabricated 300km away. The transportation and erection of the pre-cast panels will commence in the next fortnight.

Located at Princes St, Launceston the design narrative of this house was driven by the creation of small and intimate spaces, both inside the home and in the garden. As the site is a small urban block and space is at a premium, strong visual links have been created, bridging the inside and outside and essentially extending the sense of internal space out into the gardens

One big hole in the ground … A 3 storey house will fill this space over the coming months. The ground is being prepared for pouring of the lower ground floor slab

Work is underway on the largest house we have undertaken to date. Over the next 8 months this site will see the construction of a 3 storey home fabricated from pre-cast concrete panels.
