We are excited to have received heritage planning approval for our latest renovation to the state heritage listed ‘Magnolia Cottage’, located in East Launceston, Tasmania. This sensitive and sympathetic design was carefully conceived to harmonise with the character of the existing dwelling, while creating new modern, light filled spaces for our clients to enjoy.

Stage 1 work is well underway as part of the refurbishment of the heritage listed former Tasmanian Trustees Building located at 23 Paterson St, Launceston, Tasmania. Years of insensitive renovations are being stripped away to reveal the character of the original bank building. Restorative and contemporary new works are then being undertaken to create a contemporary modern tenancy space, harmonising with the original building fabric.
The last couple of months has seen the completion of all the electrical and plumbing rough-in, installation of wall and floor insulation and commencement of window installation.

This house will be our most sustainable design to date, incorporating all aspects of environmentally sustainable design from off-grid solar power, correct and considered solar orientation, use of thermal mass, composting toilets and on site grey water treatment systems.
The last few months have seen all the pre-cast concrete panels craned and fixed into place, all concrete floors poured with included hydronic heating installed and a small section of stainless steel roofing installed.
Work will now commence on the installation of windows as well as the rough-in of plumbing and electrical systems. The final fit out of linings, joinery and fittings will follow after.
